In the context of vocational training, and considering alternating periods taking place between a school and a company, digital tools play an important role in the success of training.
Digital tools are crucial as they enable continuous monitoring, empower learners in their learning process, and promote active participation throughout their training. It is a tool for classroom management, theoretical and technical education, and strategic watch in the professional field.
Digital tools enable sharing of teaching content between stakeholders. If the learning progress is clear, teachers can adapt their course materials and make these pedagogical adjustments more easily, which is particularly interesting for the learner.
The specific objectives of this module are:
- Enable learners to develop a comprehensive understanding and practical skills in using core digital tools that are relevant to their apprenticeship and professional sector. It can lead to a strategic watch of the sector shared by all stakeholders (classmates, teachers, company training supervisors, colleagues)
- Impulse learners’ intrinsic motivation by fading away / reducing the gap between digital tools used in companies and at school.
The objective is to make learners aware and turn them into good practitioners/users of the digital tools’ environment, whether this environment is dedicated to their student or professional life.
- Show the interest of collaborative work as a means of strong efficiency, as well as a means of enhancing one’s skills.
Examples of collaborative skills:
- use shared agenda with reminders and notes – see module “EdTech in the classroom“
- manage information on common digital spaces to have the right document at the right place (contracts, lessons, grades) – see module “EdTech in the classroom“
- keep one’s portfolio updated, with new competencies and comments from educational and professional tutors.
