TOPIC 3: SELFIE WBL areas of improvement

One of the greatest benefits of the SELFIE WBL self-evaluation system, apart from “forcing” democratic participation (based on a 360 degrees approach), is its system thinking approach. 

The system evaluates the quality of digitally enhanced teaching/learning process according to eight criteria and does not focus on the existence of technological/infrastructural resources as the only determining characteristic. On the contrary, it sees infrastructure and equipment as only one of the eight criteria. Thus, the excellence of digital learning/teaching depends on the quality of the different interdependent areas and the complex mutual interaction of these areas. This is illustrated by the following figure.
